On December 17, 2008 Sportmax shop was opened in GUM. This is the first shop of the Italian brand in Russia. Until recently Russian idolatresses of the brand had to be content with only a small part of Sportmax collections in MaxMara shops. New monobrand shop occupies the area of 144 sq. m and is located at the front line of GUM (nearer to Ilyinka st.), opposite Paul Smith and Iceberg shops.

The interior of the new Sportmax shop especially for Russia was designed by a famous Italian architect and designer Vincenzo De Cotiis. The result of this cooperation between the architect and MaxMara Group is a brand new and yet unique design of a shop in the world: glass walls with the built-in booster light; new special lamps; elephant skin wall panels; ebony wood furniture, "golden" decoration elements and stained glass of outstanding beauty.
